Paula Rey García is Deputy Head of Unit B3 on Energy Efficiency: Buildings and Products at the European Commission, DG Energy. She started her career at the European Commission in 2005, first in DG Environment, and subsequently in DG Health and Food Safety, joining DG Energy in January 2012. Prior to working for the European Commission, she worked at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) for several years after having acquired experience in the private sector as consultant. She holds a Masters in economics, policy and regulation at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE, UK), with distinction. She has a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM Spain).
